WVA Seeks Public Comment on Priorities and Objectives for the Next Three Fiscal Years
You are receiving this mail because we need your participation in the development of our Priorities and Objectives for advocacy on behalf of individuals with disabilities for the next three years, (2009-2011). A draft copy is attached. We would appreciate your thoughtful consideration and response. We began soliciting public input through a public forum held in Flatwoods, in March 2008 and have been gathering additional responses since that time. Our formal 45 day advertised public comment period is May 5, 2008 through June 21, 2008. The final draft of the Priorities and Objectives will be presented to the Board of Directors at their July meeting for the approval process. Free Policy 2419 Training - May 17, 2008
Free Policy 2419 Training for parents, guardians or an individual whose work require them to advocate for special education service’s of a school aged child with a disability who has or may need an IEP (Individual Education Plan). Policy 2419 is the WV policies and procedures for special education services. The training will be provided by West Virginia Advocates, the federally mandated protection and advocacy system for people with disabilities in West Virginia. It will be held on May 17, 2008 starting at 9:00am until 1:30pm, at the New Covenant Worship Center (white building on the corner) beside the Cowen Post Office. Lunch provided.
